CHOW MEIN SEASONING MIX

Chow Mein” translates as stir-fry noodles with meat and vegetables. The dish originated from Northern China. In America, it’s associated with crisp noodles popular in Hong Kong.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 1 packet Sun-Bird® Chow Mein seasoning
  • ½ lb. boneless chicken, beef, or pork; cut in strips
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cups bean sprouts
  • 1 can (5 oz.) crisp Chow Mein Noodles 

PREPARATIONS:

  • Combine seasoning with soy sauce, sugar, and water; set aside.
  • Heat oil in skillet or wok; stir-fry meat.
  • Add vegetables (except bean sprouts); stir-fry.
  • Add bean sprouts and seasoning mixture; stir-fry 1 minute.
  • Serve over chow mein noodles.
