WHAT YOU NEED:
1 packet Sun-Bird® Hot & Spicy Szechwan seasoning
¾ lb. chicken, pork, or beef, cut into strips
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 3 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 red or green bell pepper, sliced
- ¼ lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 1 can (8 oz.) bamboo shoots, drained
PREPARATIONS:
- Combine mix with sugar, soy sauce, and water; blend and set aside.
- In large skillet or wok, heat oil, add meat and stir-fry until browned.
- Add onion, carrots, and bell pepper; stir-fry.
- Add mushrooms and bamboo shoots; stir fry.
- Add seasoning mixture and stir-fry 1 minute or until thickened.
Makes 5 servings, about 1 cup each as prepared above.
FOR HOTTER FLAVOR, add crushed red chiles to taste.
